Geospatial and Analytics Team

The Geospatial and Analytics Team collects, analyzes and plots data points to create
pictures of the information. The end results are maps that show geographic patterns in data that often can't be seen in a table such as how income relates to health outcomes.

The Geospatial and Analytics Team is made of the following:

  • Director who oversees all analyses and manuscripts that are produced from the project,
  • Research Director who helps to guide all research activities,
  • GIS Analyst who processes data, conducts spatial analysis and maps data related to the project,
  • Data Managers who process raw data into useable formats for statistical and geospatial analysis and
  • Statisticians who analyze the data.

The work of the Geospatial and Analytics Team has helped the Durham Diabetes Coalition decide which Durham neighborhoods to focus its efforts based on factors such as resources available and economic, social and historical data.
