The Campaign
Throughout the months of March and April, bus and radio ads, flyers and posters in Durham County will encourage Durham residents to check their risk for type 2 diabetes. It only takes two minutes to check your risk for type 2 diabetes.
Take 2 for Type 2 is an English and Spanish language mass media campaign that coincides with Alert Day, a national initiative by the American Diabetes Association to assess the risk for diabetes. The campaign encourages Durham residents to take the American Diabetes Association Risk Test to find out their risk for type 2 diabetes. If individuals score high on the test, they are asked to visit their health care provider for further screening.

Radio ads will air on The Light 103.9 (WNNL) and La Ley (WYMY) from March 17 through April 5. Web ads will appear on both (WFXC) and websites during that time. Posters and flyers will be located at Durham area businesses, community organizations, clinics and churches in March and April.
