DDC Hosts Series of Events for American Diabetes Month in November
In November, DDC will host a series of events to give information about type 2 diabetes to Durham County residents. Events will cover information such as strategies for diabetes management, healthy eating and physical activity, buying fruits and vegetables on a budget, reading food labels, navigating doctor’s appointments and medication management.

Take 2 for Type 2 is an English and Spanish language mass media campaign that coincides with American Diabetes Month, a health observance by the American Diabetes Association to raise awareness of diabetes. The campaign encourages Durham residents to take the American Diabetes Association Risk Test to find out their risk for type 2 diabetes. Listen for the ads on Foxy 107.1/104.3 and 103.9The Light in November. You can also catch Spanish language ads in La Conexión during American Diabetes Month.
