Do you have type 2 diabetes and want support in managing it? Are you recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and want to know where to start? You're in luck! Come to a support group every first Tuesday at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro Street, 3rd Floor Conference Room. All meetings are FREE and open to the public. Family members and friends are also encouraged to attend. Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to: meal-planning, foot care, chronic pain, medications, supplies, stress relievers, blood sugar monitoring, and exercise methods.

The Durham Diabetes Coalition (DDC) is proud to announce an opportunity for community mini-grants with awards up to $2,500.00!
The mission of the DDC is to identify individuals living with type 2 diabetes and provide educaiton and assistance with effectively managing their diabetes, in order to cut down on death and injury related to diabetes. Organizations applying for this grant must reflect the mission of the DDC and be designed to prevent, guide, or motivate people living with diabetes or at-risk for diabetes to live healthier and prevent the disabling complications or death from diabetes.
