Save the Date for the 2014 Take a Loved One to the Doctor event on Saturday, November 1 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm in the Human Services building. DDC Offers Two Free Series of Living Healthy with Diabetes

The Durham Diabetes Coalition is offering two free series of the diabetes self-management class, Living Healthy with Diabetes. The series will take place:

- Thursdays, Oct. 2-Nov. 6, 10 a.m.- noon, Russell Memorial CME Church
- Tuesdays, Oct. 21- Dec. 2, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Holton Career & Resource Center

Participants will make weekly action plans, share experiences and help each other solve the problems they face in their self-management care. Participants are urged to attend all six classes for the classes to be most effective.

Registration ends one week before the first class in the series.

DDC Helps Establish New Healthy Mile Trail

The Durham Diabetes Coalition has been working with the Durham Housing Authority and residents at McDougald Terrace to establish a Healthy Mile Trail in the neighborhood. DDC helped residents choose the one-mile route, paint the route markers and organize the community kickoff. Read more about the McDougald Terrace Healthy Mile Trail.
